Leading to an active extinction—self-immolation
The truth drowns in a sea of irrelevance invisible to my sense of sight
Through our appetite for distractions, their control over me is trivialized

History was told with more lies than facts
Things don’t make sense, their reasons do not add up
My freedom sold, no questions allowed
Mouth shut, opinions banned, broken will, and expected to bow

How could I have been so blind?
Trapped in my own skin,
Prisoner of my own damn lack of will

The machine has gone too far and existed far too long
Harvesting the life out of me, destroying everything whence I belong
I cannot blame anyone, I’m the architect of my own demise
I’ve lived on knees and the choice was mine

Fear and dogma numbed my mind
It is like my throat was held tight
The truth lies where we refuse to delve
From my insides, my freedom cries for help
Something inside cries out to open my sealed eyes
Internal rage arises
Reign of fear declines
Rage-driven retaliation unwinds

The way the system works is absurd, assailable, insatiable!
There are no evil demons waiting down below
Or crowned unsullied angels above
There’s nothing, but the universe and what your mind conceives thereof
I’ll drain this fear holding me back
Confident to step out of the dark
Inexorable awakening of the mind
Beliefs collapse over what once was denied

Hype is a funny thing. Usually when I hear everywhere "Dude this shit is 🔥" or even the dreaded and oft-used "AOTY!!" bullshit, I roll my eyes. And I rolled my eyes last year on the hype train for Carnosus. But again, for every thousandth breathless fanboy review I've seen, sometimes the album exceeds the expectation. Death metal/deathcore hybridization done correct! All the atmospheric passages and samples feel right in place, with great sound. Instrumentation doesn't lack as well, but the vocals could've been a little less upfront. 8.5/10 liltito
